Pros
- Career stability, probably - Company name is well known (though not for good reasons..) - Salary is not bad - Remote working
Cons
- HR treats its human resources like trash - Product development moves at a glacial pace - I witnessed coworkers leaving after being rejected after asking for even minor promotions. A bit arrogant of Elsevier considering we were having difficulty filling that position at the time. - Application process repeatedly screwed up for myself and several others - Mishandled myself and several others' visa applications leading to anxiety and loss of income - "Referral bonus" is a scam. Referred a friend at the end of 2022, HR screwed her around losing her application and failing to contact her for months. Just when she was about to move on they came back and offered her a job. She accepted, but I never got my referral bonus because I left at the end of February 2023 which is a LEAP YEAR so I was 2 days' short. Unbelievable greed but not unexpected from a company like Elsevier. - HR sent a generic canned email offering an exit interview. I declined for the above reasons, saying I didn't think they even cared. They proved my point by ignoring my email.
