Pros

If you want to make a difference, FedEx will allow you that opportunity. Embracing the Purple Promise is a way of life. The company is dedicated to quality, although their HR Departments and Global Dispersing Departments have never embraced QDM. Pay is very good as long as you start at a high salary. Salary increases are 100% formula driven, no exceptions unless they see a signed offer letter from elsewhere. Once hired, you're in as long as you want. FedEx rewards loyalty.

Cons

FedEx rewards loyalty above EVERYTHING else; so, being a naysayer will get you minimized and set aside very quickly. Leadership doesn't walk the talk. Mailbox is full of Purple Kool-Aid, of which the upper leadership does not believe it applies to them. If you are not an officer or director, you are a commodity can be replaced, but they won't hire you. If you are not loyal, they will make you want to quit. I cannot tell you the number of times annual bonus were reduced or eliminated for managers and below, only to later find out officers and directors received full or greater bonuses. It has gotten so bad that FedEx stop explaining the rules for how the bonus is determined, so that will stop appearing as liars.

Pros

Beat the traffic to and from work. You get a combination of active work walking around the warehouse and office work at a computer.

Cons

When express and ground merged, some of the admins decided they weren't going to do any of the new express tasks that needed to be done. Management either didn't seem to notice or did not care as they never intervened or addressed this disparity. A coworker with my same job title was in the air conditioned office all day, working on tasks that were not a priority while I was getting slammed with work that was required for my position. If that is what management wanted, that is fine. But it was never addressed to the team. Management doesn't address or care about these things as long as someone does it.
