Pros

Great benefits and good compensation package.

Cons

If you are looking to work in the California end user Market then run the other way. They are constantly hiring since most people leave in less than a year due to terrible management, bad accounts, and unrealistic expectations in this market. My manager is good but the other manager on the End user side is a horrible bully that has already lost half of his team in less than a year. I am disgusted in the way that Gartner has allowed him to treat his employees in what can easily lead to a lawsuit. Gartner looks at their employees as liabilities and instead of working to help resolve the issues that have persisted within Gartner for years, they just keep hiring more people. Many of the managers have little to no experience, no respect for your personal time, micromanage, and just constantly belittle their teams. The attrition rate within this market is very high so you have customers that have had little to no support for over a year and it will take a lot of time to get them to change their mindset. The top performer left the company, and a few others have already left or are on their way out. The managers have such a hard time hiring people that they will tell you anything and even lie to get you to join their team. Don't make the same mistake that I did. I am just staying for a few more months until I find a better a job. I heard people in other regions may be happy at Gartner but make sure that you join a team where they have an experienced manager and a region with a low attrition rate.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
