Pros
The firm does a great job of hiring people from such different backgrounds and the average intelligence level throughout the floor is insanely high. You will learn so much in such a short amount of time and the exposure to so many different companies and seniority levels is amazing.
Cons
The floor is insanely political and gossipy. The seniors don't care about your personal or intellectual health, they only care about execution and work product. It's like this in most investment banks, but within GS SF specifically, there have been an increasing number of medical cases going up due to lack of attention to personal care for the sake of the job. People throughout the floor are very ingenuine and when push comes to shove, they will always look out for their personal sake over the collective good of the team/floor. To summarize in two words, soul crushing.
