Pros

Hilton is passionate about being the #1 place to work and is happy to put in the work to make that vision come to life; in the 5 months I've been at the organization I have had tremendous development opportunities offered to me as an investment in my development, the corporate headquarter office has frequent events and activities that feel intentional and thoughtful in terms of making the workplace fun and engaging but also relevant for employees, and there is a significant amount of transparency in communication and decision making from the leadership team. The CEO is one of the most approachable people I've ever met, and clearly is a believer in people above company; it's been the best employment experience in my 10+ years of working in the corporate world.

Cons

Working in a matrixed and highly complex organization has consistent hurdles to overcome and Hilton is not exempt from these; seeing stronger collaboration and communication between departments, cutting down on excess tools, systems, and procedures to simplify and streamline workflows, as well as clearer areas of responsibility and scope for leaders and their teams would help the company move faster and accomplish objectives more effectively.

Pros

Different services and softwares provided by Hilton are convenient to have access to.

Cons

The new PMS system, PEP, is awful. They got rid of F&B Distribution for night audit which means a lot less work for night auditors and way more work for accountants. PEP also doesn’t have the same functionalities as OnQ, the previous PMS. I have not heard any good thing about PEP after all these years. The team member travel discounts aren’t good anymore. They used to be flat rates across three tiers of hotels, but now they are extremely variable and can run very high. On top of that, hotels and resorts still charge team members for parking and service fees, so you still can’t afford to travel on the discount. That is, if you even find the team member rate available. Chances are, you’ll be working for a franchisee, not Hilton itself. They may be one of the world’s best companies to work for, but you probably won’t actually be working for them. California taxes and district fees felt mishandled by corporate.
