Pros
As our senior leadership says time and again, the true North of the company is it’s employees and it shows. Intuit truly cares about its employees first and that reflects in so many of the employee friendly policies and perks that the employees get. Also the company believes in self disruption and refresh at regular intervals and which has kept Intuit ahead of the game than many of its rivals. The next 5 year roadmap and its execution has been one of the most exciting journeys for me
Cons
Too many barriers between different teams and business units. It’s very difficult to succeed here solely on the basis of your tech credentials especially at senior positions because a lot of time is spent in breaking barriers and influencing different stakeholders. Another drawback is that most of the managers are just people managers and do not contribute very effectively in technology decisions. Coming from my previous company, this was a bit of a let down because engineering managers should be highly technical and should at the very minimum do things like code reviews and drive the engineering and operational excellence through personal contributions
