Pros
Safety is really valued here.
Cons
No work place is perfect. There are always people who are not qualified that have great jobs. There are always people that are talented that are never given a chance. Upper management is always concerned about $$$. No matter what. They might be good people but they become emotionless the highter up they go. Well, not all. Some are really sweet but they get "removed" from their roles or threatened to be fired if they don't go along with it. Their IT systems are cheap. Software is always old. Good luck on getting an IT product. It's an act of Congress. Our department tried to purchase 2 new laptops for new senior management...we didn't have any to give them. And our local IT department first denied and then delayed the purchases. We aren't talking super expensive. Maybe 1800 total for two? First they told us it was too expensive. We reminded them it wasn't their budget and then they said ok. Six weeks later the items still had not been ordered. They will run any IT item into the ground before purchasing new. Unless you come in as a woman, with a good role, it's extremely hard for you to move up. Even if you change departments. Very old way of doing lots of things. Things could be streamlined and better functioning.
