      Pros

      Medtronic has a great culture based on great people and great products. The company hires globally and attracts some of the best talent. The company's mission is based around the patients and for the most part that provides great satisfaction working for the company.

      Cons

      Inconsistent promotion patterns, limited upward mobility for many. Topline growth slowing due to size and competitive forces. The company is very quarter results driven.

      Pros

      Generous, old-school benefits. Almost twice the PTO as other places I've worked, excellent healthcare, 401K matching, etc. Many high-quality colleagues and a generally mellow, polite business culture.

      Cons

      Multiple competing bureaucracies, internal consultancies, a computer-illiterate 'stakeholder' class with permission to disrupt anything, and perverse incentives driving waste.
