Pros
It's a fun atmosphere and I really enjoyed the relationships I built with the hotel managers. It was also a lot of fun getting to know the regular customers and their dogs!
Cons
PetSmart won't fire someone no matter how much they deserve it. The attitudes of associates could sometime border on harrassment and nothing would happen, even after documentation and acknowledgement from managers that this was happening. This drove out good employees. I saw this happen on several occasions. The associates would get away with it with sometimes less than a warning. Very unprofessional. Also, corporate management didn't seem to have a very good idea of what it was like to actually work hands on in the hotel. Lots of stupid rules that were unpractical with the amount of staff or just didn't seem to make any sense to people working in the hotel. Another thing that was frusterating is that you were required to have open availability if you are full time but you wouldn't get your next weeks schedule until a few days in advance. I would never work there again, as much as I loved a handful of the staff!
