Pros
Benefits and base pay we’re good.
Cons
They are so many I don’t know where to start. I worked 5 years starting when it was Saratoga Technologies. I never truly had a vacation because I always worked while I was gone. This was not required but I wanted to make sure that my customers were taken care of. I even attended meetings virtually so I would not miss out on any information given. Saratoga respected this a lot but Sharp couldn't care less. When Sharp purchased Saratoga we were lied to so many times from the very beginning. The commission structure algorithm is so convoluted you have no idea if you’re getting your fair share or not. In the spring of 2020 when Covid first hit our area and throughout the rest of the year of 2020 they expected our sales to be the same or better. The majority of our customers that we served were not even open let alone purchasing anything. Customers were focused on either keeping their doors open or finding a way that they could still operate so their employees would not have to be let go. From the time that they took over Saratoga Technologies, we started dropping employees left and right. This was before Covid. Most of the employees quit because of the rediculas work load and this was before Covid and a whole lot were let go because their jobs were eliminated and corporate took over their responsibilities. We were told this was not going to happen. When Covid hit and most of the customers in our area were shutting the doors for a period of time, we were told in several sales meeting they did not want to hear the “Covid excuse”. Things were different when we had branch meetings. The sales manager would start the meeting by saying to corporate that sales were down obviously due to Covid. They were allowed to use the “Covid excuse” but we were not. It’s not even an excuse it’s a global pandemic that is affecting sales all over the world. Managers force the sales guys to push products that customers do not need just so the managers could get their bonuses. The family atmosphere that Saratoga had was eliminated all together due to Sharp caring about nothing but money. As an employee you are just a number. Every sales guy was let go from our branch except for two. We only got a one day notice. The severance pay was absolutely ridiculous. We got paid our base pay for four weeks and that was it. All vacation time, sick time and personal time was never bought out. Also several deals that were closed within the last two weeks there was never any commission given to us that was let it go. They kept two sales reps, one had only been there nine months and the other had only been there one year. They did this to save money because the longer a sales guy had been there the more money we were making. These companies/customers were divided out between the two of them. One of them was given a gold mine account with several other larger customers that they were not even capable of handling. Most of them left Sharp and went to other providers. Since November 2020 when I was let go due to downsizing because of Covid, I have had customers call me several times regularly asking how they can get out of their contracts because they were getting nickeled and dime for everything and could not get a sales representatives or technical support to return their calls or emails. A lot of our customers paid several thousand dollars a month to have priority support from us but would have to wait days and even a week for support. Lastly, I will say that they had told us and I quote “we do not want to keep servicing these little mom and pop shops that have 50 employees or less. We do not want to waste our time on them. I cared about my customers and this disgusted me.
