Pros

There really are no pros for working for Walmart. One has to be very careful with anything that Walmart does as it self serving. For instance, if the company wants to let an employee go, it will ask the employee if they would rather go on an improvement plan, quit or get terminated. This merely done because if an employee quits, it will likely not be able to get unemployment.

Cons

Ignorance is praised. If a person is intelligent, they will not succeed. I have truly never dealt with so many ignorant people in my life. Granted there are a few diamonds beneath all of the dirt, but one has to be careful when dealing with Walmart. Make sure that everything is documented as the company will state something that is conflicting. Be very careful with the people who you associate with. There are many self-serving people. I am truly grateful that I no longer am employed by a truly despicable organization.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
