Pros
Walmart is really good about promoting from within. I went from a Sales Floor Associate to a Department Supervisor within three months. With such a promotion comes the opportunity to be a leader. The actual job is fairly easy, anyone could probably do it. The pay is pretty good for a single guy such as myself. The benefits are great (As long as you are willing to pay for them) . If you want a day off management is good about letting you have that day off. As long as it is not near inventory time. I have met a lot of great people that I have became friends with.
Cons
Every job has to have downsides and Walmart is no exception. It seems as if the harder you work the more management expects you to accomplish within a shorter time frame. Often times you feel overwhelmed and unappreciated. My stress levels are always off the charts. There is a lot of immaturity, including some from the store manager. As a result the environment seems unprofessional. Customers will often yell at you for things that are beyond your control. Such as when an item has been discontinued. They will often walk away saying that they will simply go somewhere else to find the merchandise. The lack of communication between managers will often lead to conflicts of interest. For example the backroom manager will want you to clear out the warehouse while the front end manager wants you to run register. No matter what you do one of them will be mad at you.
