Horrible experience

Pros

Paid weekly and only had to work until 4pm.

Cons

Poor Management, felt intimidated and uncomfortable the entire time I worked there. Very tight with money, poor wages and no spare money to even provide clean cutlery or even sponges to clean with. Some staff had computers that were slow and constantly crashing.

Pros

Talented team members..... you might see a dog sometimes.

Cons

Horrible place for a Junior to start out, there is no support whatsoever, you’ll be completely alone and expected to know everything in the first week. The computer was slow, like, slow to the point where I literally had to wait 30 minutes just to get illustrator and chrome to work everyday. This didn’t allow me to complete tasks in the timeframe I was given and this should have been fixed before I started. Not over a week later after being mentioned numerous times by team members. Tasks were given with no direction, I was expected to magically know how to complete a task without knowing what files to use or where to find anything, nor did I have any examples for reference. There was no communication between the manager and CEO. If the boss approved of a design he would call the manager in to look who would usually demean my work in front of other team members while the boss said nothing, when he was the one who liked it in the first place. If you’re asked if you can take criticism it means “can you take being humiliated in front of others.?” The music played was very explicit/ inappropriate, and this was considered acceptable. There is very clear favouritism and I felt undervalued despite my efforts, intimidated and uncomfortable, especially due to the fact that the boss would micromanage and would try and tell me the fasted way to get something done. Past employees were spoken about often in a bad light and their work was referred to using profanity. After just 16 days of working there I was told in front of other team members I needed to see the manager in her office. The manager attempted to convince me to leave by telling me that I wasn't a good fit, and that I didn't have enough prior experience. I was told I wouldn’t last at FuzzYard and that now I knew where I stood with the company after just 3 weeks. 1. I didn’t need any experience for the Junior position whatsoever. 2. Give the designers an equal go, don’t show favouritism and make sure your computer is adequate before you blame others for being slow. 3. Juniors are not experts after 16 days.

Bad culture and bullying

Pros

Some great colleagues and wonderful products to work with.

Cons

Upper management doesn’t foster an environment of openness and inclusiveness. They make you feel undervalued and unappreciated regardless of any type of hard work. No chance of career progression within the company. The way upper management speaks about ex-staff is very unprofessional and makes current staff uncomfortable. Evident bullying on certain staff member(s)
