Pros

Used to be a Good Company Some sort of Brand Recognition is present

Cons

I don't even know where to start. INFA used to be a great place to work for before Amit Walia took over along with Jitesh Ghai. 2 people who have no idea how to deal with people, have no strategy to grow the company and have no respect at all for the people who have toiled hard for the company. All these corporate bootlickers here justifying the management's decision of layoffs because it hasn't happened to them. Hasn't happened to me also, I still have a job but I empathize with so many of my close colleagues who were terribly impacted. There was no opportunity at all to say goodbye, to take a proper KT session - just remove their access, and the survivors need to figure stuff out on their own. Imagine you have worked in a company for 15 years. Don't you deserve some sort of respect when you leave? Atleast a farewell, an opportunity to say goodbye to your colleagues in person, in office? But no, these folks will act like cowards and will randomly block your account one morning and send a mail that you are laid off. Just use and throw people like napkins. The work life balance in India is terrible and you are expected to work like slaves for US folks. For their comfort we need to attend calls at 9 PM in the night, but do they go this far for our comfort? No, because Indian employees are slaves. After doing all these mass layoffs these jokers have the audacity to go on a World Tour of all INFA offices and keep harping about Cloud Cloud Cloud profits, revenue etc etc. and claim how much has revenue grown and still they do this. I don't have an issue with layoffs if you need to, if the company is losing money, and even if you do layoffs, do it respectfully to the people. Giving them a notice of 2 months, all the benefits, an opportunity to say Goodbye, and time to process the information without doing it randomly during the festive season without performance being taken into account. First this CEO should be thrown out for his absolute incompetency in ruining the great work culture that used to exist beforehand.

Pros

Some very good and smart technical folks, engineers. Salaries and benefits can be good if you are good. Good culture (would qualify with till a year ago)

Cons

Exodus of talent. The PM team at Bangalore is nearly gone. The CTO and his group of Senior Architects are gone. Some of the best engineers and leaders have already left. Many good engineers in my team seem to be preparing to leave. There are a lot of ex-Symantec (who came after probably spoiling Symantec) folks running the R&D and they are bent on ruining everything that Informatica' s culture stood for. They have accelerated the exit of some good engineers and leaders with their politics and to top it they have replaced them with their cronies and yes-men, some of who have a track record of developing failed products and destroying teams. It would be good if the CEO takes notice to stem the rot. While these are common issues in US, the situation is particularly bad as some of the very senior leaders in Bangalore R&D are spoiling all the culture that made Informatica a great company of yesteryears. Company has missed the Big Data bus. Its products are not able to win the mindshare as well as marketshare that has been taken up by new Valley startups. From Benefits perspective,RSUs of the listed company are gone now as the company is privatised.

Pros

Good & knowledgeable peers to work with (degrading quality though). Work from home, some managers are really nice to work with at lower level. Few employee engagement activities, Yoga classes & gym in office premises. Live snacks counters at reasonable (not subsidised) prices.

Cons

It is sad to see good people are leaving the company. The old timers are replaced with freshers, people for lower salaries & contract employees. Hectic work load during last release (management promised retrospection and partial positive turnaround) An indirect salary cut by vanishing individual contribution of 50% in bonus amount. Individual performance is used for further cutdown of bonus, With company performance in last 4-5 years, it is going to be 5-10% salary cut. The iLabs finance touched the bottom by denying perDiem to the people served at Infa world saying provided lunch at venue.
