Pros

Flexible hours Great pay per hour

Cons

I have had situations where I began a program with a co-teacher, and they leave the company, and I am not informed at all. I just show up expecting to be supported and am left to pick up the pieces myself. I have also had situations where I had to substitute for another location and was given incorrect information about the available materials, forcing me to scramble at the last minute to make a pivot. Overall, this company does not offer enough hours (even if you work in their hr), is awful at communicating, does not hire enough support staff, and is just unnecessarily stressful. I would not recommend working here unless you plan to have a career in education.

Pros

Overall loved working with the kids at the schools, they were lovely.

Cons

My experience working at Kodely as an after-school instructor was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. While I enjoyed working with the kids and learned a lot from that experience, the company itself is disorganized, misleading, and unsupportive. All of the after-school activities were AI-generated, and materials were often not sent on time, which sometimes forced me to buy supplies out of pocket. There was virtually no training or support provided, and operations staff frequently ghosted or ignored issues. The clock-in/clock-out system was unreliable, and it was nearly impossible to get additional hours. On top of all this, I was misled about pay—initially told it would be $30/hour, which turned out not to be the case. Despite consistently meeting expectations and completing all tasks, I was terminated without explanation. This lack of transparency has negatively affected my professional reputation, as reference checks were also impacted by their poor communication and handling of staff. I would caution anyone considering working with Kodely to think carefully. Working with kids was rewarding, but the company itself is unprofessional, disorganized, and provides zero real support to staff.
