Chaotic Leadership and Unfair Compensation – Avoid at All Costs

Pros

Some of the families and students are genuinely wonderful to work with. The team (other than Vicky) is great!

Cons

The owner is completely erratic and lacks any real leadership ability. Expectations change daily with zero communication or structure. There are no clear goals, but you’ll still be punished for not meeting them. Compensation is not only below market – it’s often withheld entirely. Promised commissions and overtime? Good luck seeing a dime. The company thrives on overworking passionate people and burning them out fast.

Great Place to Work Remotely

Pros

Really nice organizational methods for keeping track of student progress and information. The students they sign up are very motivated to do well for the most part. 95% of the students I was given were great. I loved the Teams chat as well, and the community of other practitioners who shared their knowledge with me.

Cons

Like any college counseling company, some of the parents I worked with had totally unreasonable expectations, but the founder would always be there to advocate for me when things got tough or would transfer the student to someone else when requested. I think they should do more to extend their customer base to other areas outside of the west coast time zone. I was not located in a convenient time zone to work with a lot of students in PST. Ultimately, this and the lack of benefits offered drove me to seek employment elsewhere.
