Pros

I joined this company with great hope and for long term prospective; quite impressed with the hiring manager and his frankness about work and expectations. Enjoyed initial couple of years and learned a lot as long as I worked for that manager. But once I moved to different team, found the managers really have haterated towards north Indians, even do not want discuss and listen when share something. I have been hearing such things from other north Indian people, but when I worked under those managers really found whatever they used to say are absolutely TRUTH... That made me suffocated and made frustrated and forced me to look out some other company to work... Overall, it’s a great company with great values, but very bad people in top management and human resources, who keep their eyes closed even if knowing all these things

Cons

There are many areas where I can highlight, but the most crucial one I would like to highlight and most important for management to work on if they really want to improve the culture and treat equally everyone. 1) Development teams are treated badly and blamed for bugs/issues, where as QA engineers have to be questioned. 2) Need to hire competent QA engineers, who have potential to learn and add value to testing; rather just running set of test cases without understanding what those tests do 3) I worked in other companies and now working in a start up company, found a lot of difference when I compare with progress software india. In Progress Software India, Dev engineer is responsible for development to unit testing to functional testing to test automation and moreover, responsible for regression issues/bugs. And no one can dare to question QA team for this, even if someone asks for, he/she will be targeted and treated badly. 4) I am sorry to say bluntly, I have never seen such horrible QA managers and engineers (except few, can count in finger tips).

Pros

- Small company so theoretically you have better visibility. Cozy office space - Some good benefits. Work from home. Work life balance is ok. - Can pull off few hours of google search as “research/innovation” and bask in its glory. - Haven for process junkies.

Cons

- Legacy products to maintain and people who know them have either left or are leaving. - Zero value for longevity. Employees are mere resources. - Especially in Hyderabad office: Favoritism. Whimsical mid level managers and directors have too much power (and no scrutiny). Closed room meetings. Defunct HR. Employees hardly have any voice. - Since Jan ’16, layoffs are now a quarterly ritual. - Lack of technical leadership. Developers are ultimate scapegoat. However, if you are a QA, you are probably in a better position. - Unclear future direction.

Pros

good environment until you don't bring up the wrong that is happening in the team by a few oldies those are nothing but a buttercream. All sorts of facilities which is good for luring new comers in the industry. Just have one good product (OpenEdge); rest all are sticking around as leaches trying to fit in somehow.

Cons

India counter part is a family business being run with partying and enjoying, No discipline, no work, no job security; forced termination/resignation with closed door meetings. No given reason but making excuse of some crap that helps make it quite clear that there are few oldies running their own personal business and no corporate look and feel. After the recent merger/acquisition of another such venture, its kind of a one plus one being eleven. Don't consider this organisation to give your prestigious time and effort if you are real serious about your future. They lack correct vision and possibly have no vision at all. Jumping from one ideology to another with no goal and focus on the future. Not a good place for NI as well.
