Pros

Beautiful facility, Most co-workers, most resident.

Cons

They lure you with their 1440 mantra BS. The facility has a few back stabbing, white trash, drama filled, meddling managers that have been there from the beginning. And if it’s not their way it’s the hi-way. And corporate cannot see that they’re the problem. That’s why it’s a revolving door with employees. Stay away if you respect yourself at all.

corporate policy prohibits them from giving any work references, good or bad, just an automated on-line employment verification system, so it doesn't matter whether the supervisors, managers, or directors like you or not they are a subsidiary of Common Sail Investment Group in Michigan that owns about four different types of properties within commuting distance, so you have other options if you like the corporation but not the people at this property (although I can't imagine why you would) the corporation carries equal opportunity to an extreme reverse discrimination because it is completely run by women, from supervisors to managers to directors at the property, region, and corporate levels, with the exception of the director of maintenance, and if they could find a woman with the necessary training, certifications, and state licenses, there is no doubt in my mind that the man would be replaced in a heartbeat there's inadequate supervision so you can slack off and if anyone complains, it's their word against yours so nothing gets done to you unless the one complaining is a favorite of the supervisor or department director, and then you might as well just find a new job because you’ve been targeted the time clock/punch clock often malfunctions so that you can come late and leave early and submit a missed punch form and get paid for the whole shift anyway, or you can use the internet based system to punch in if you're still in traffic or just running late, or punch out from home if you left early you can volunteer to work a double and get overtime, plus a bonus, and then leave halfway through, or at least a couple hours early, and there is no verification that you actually did anything for which you get the pay the state required on-line training is tedious and boring, but hardly nobody follows the training, anyway, and nobody checks whether you do and nobody says anything if you don’t. They just don’t want any trouble from the state because you didn’t do the lessons in the evenings and overnight, and on weekends and holidays, the nurse on duty is in charge of the facility, and a lot of them are young, inexperienced, and untrained for making management decisions or even supervising, and most of them don't want the added responsibility, for which they aren't getting paid anyway, so they mostly just mind their own business and let us take care of ours

Regular pay is nowhere near what it should be for the amount of responsibility for patient care and welfare, especially difficult ones in advanced stages of dementia or other medical conditions requiring care for which the facility is not properly equipped and staff are not adequately trained, or the evening and night shifts when we do housekeeping and maintenance, too Then they offer bonuses and overtime to try to get required staffing, but the supervisor and department director blame each other for forgetting to enter the bonus in the payroll system. A lot of people don't do their whole shift, anyway, and there is no verification whether they do, nor any consequences when they leave early Some work 64 to 80 hours a week, at least on the clock, and then start to take out their fatigue on everyone else. The supervisor and department director clearly have favorites who seem to get first chance at all the bonuses and overtime Everyone acts all happy when a man comes to work here, but then they mistreat him and he quits in a few months They hire petite young girls who don't have the physical strength to do the necessary work, and the training that they provide is totally inadequate, or they are not smart enough to properly do the job. People use bedsheets and blankets or towels instead of waterproof underpads, and then they don't understand why urine or a spilled drink soaks the whole bed. A patient had one of those purewick systems for women, and they would forget to hook the hose to the pump, or to even turn it on. Others don't properly close catheter bag drains after they empty them. There are also patients whose families don't provide wipes or diapers or other supplies, and management tells us to take them from someone else whose family did provide for them They promised an extra $1 per hour for second (PM) and third (NOC for Nocturnal) shifts, but the payroll system didn't calculate and pay correctly. Even though it was posted that PM was 2:00 to 10:30, and NOC was 10:30 to 7:00, when people complained about not getting the correct shift differential, corporate said that PM shift was from 3:00 to 11:00 and NOC was from 10:00 to 6:00 which cheated people out of at least $1 per shift, and the amount they paid was still not right even using those hours Then they announced $2 per hour weekend pay from midnight Saturday morning to midnight Sunday night, but never paid that correctly either Don’t bother trying to tell the supervisor or department director about your personal problems and family issues or vehicle troubles or anything else because they don’t care. They’ll try to make you feel sorry for them when they one-up you because on top of all their personal problems and family issues and vehicle troubles they have supervisory and managerial responsibilities, too. Absolutely don’t remind them that’s why they get paid more than you, or that they asked for their added responsibilities Some of the best workers have been overworked and exploited by the supervisor and department director until they quit, and others were bullied by the ones who spend more time trying to avoid working than it would take to just do what needed to be done

Pros

As a CURRENT employee, I can say with full confidence that the Dining Room Manager and Executive Chef have both made the best of our understaffing situation and maintained cheerful attitudes. The residents are wonderful. Both Manager and Chef have made sure we don’t get overworked, and are very good at sympathizing with daily life, school, and other personal accommodations. Dining Room Manager specifically provides a safe work environment, regardless of pre-existing workers who try to bring her down:( She makes sure we don’t work more than we are scheduled too, even if she has to stay late to pick up slack.

Cons

There have been some previous hires that were a mistake. a they tried to con the facility, and made it almost impossible to keep a good attitude, and represent our facility the way that it actually is. These employees no longer work here, and story point has returned to its former glory 😊

Pros

The residents brought me joy everyday, and I developed a very close rapport with them and their families. I loved my coworkers-the few that we had-the building was ran by agency. I worked so hard, and enjoyed my job and several of the residents became like grandparents and still call me; as well as their families. It’s a shame they have no idea what they’re doing or how to run a business. It’s like dealing with scandalous little high school aged girls. PATHETIC. My heart breaks for the residents right now.

Cons

They do NOT stand by their whole 1440 LIE. ITS SAD!! The facility has soo much potential, but ran my terrible people (management, CORPORATE). I was lied to by management several times. I was lied to by corporate as well!! I was discriminated against once and treated so unfairly it’s unbelievable.

Restaurant management 04/2022

Pros

The management overall is good in StoryPoint Granger. Meeting the professional staff and workers in this facility is a joy. Everyone seems to be in good spirits most of the time as it is a difficult position to be in daily working with the stress and strain of the job.

Cons

As a full-time server/waiter, I have witnessed the kitchen restaurant manager taking advantage of full time servers schedules due to not enough hired, trained staff to get the job done daily. Unfortunately she has become a very hard person to work with due to stress and strain of the job and to get the job done. She does take advantage of putting people on the schedule without their permission to do so and work the hours over eight hours a day. The professionalism of the youngest high school students hired part time do not come to work and there will be twice as much to do for those days/evening shifts. Members in the kitchen morale is not good due to understaffed and overworked.

Pros

The Company seeks to build true Authenticity, Devotion and Excellence on all levels of leadership and down to the direct care staff. I am proud of this company that invests in the character of it's employees and is always looking out for the best interests of the residents it serves.

Cons

The company has experienced great success and rapid growth which doe place high demands upon the teams that lead and provide care for residents in each facility. It can feel 'heavy' at the facility level. At the same time the Executive teams are transparent and recognize the challenges, always understanding the challenges and seeking to mitigate them without compromising excellence. -

Pros

Nice facility to work in. Making a difference in the residents lives.

Cons

The company acts like they care about their employees but they don’t. Once I had to stay all night until 7 am one time when I was supposed to be finished at 3 am because my replacement did not show up, which happens a lot and is tolerated because they’re always short staffed. The management ignored my phone calls to come in and replace me themselves because they’re did not want to come in.
