Pros

If you are right out of school, you gain a lot of technical and client facing experience, but you can get that a lot of places now.

Cons

I walked into the office the other day to find that my colleague had been fired because he stumbled upon salary files that were on a shared drive that was not locked down. It's kind of funny that an executive of a technology company with a massive amount of data containing PHI information can't figure out how to lock down files or find a private folder. I would think that if you fire him, you should fire her too, but of course, executives at Strata are like royalty, untouchable and there for life despite how little results they produce. This is just one example of the corruption and politics running rampant at Strata, but sure has prompted me to launch full force into my job search. Employees are treated like children instead of the professionals that they are. We are constantly talked down to, and activities such as playing capture the flag and participating in book club are mandatory (CEO is requiring the entire company to read a new client's book to suck up a tad bit harder). In addition, the company is full of useless middle and upper management where no one is really sure what they do besides sit and collect fat salaries. In a jam, the sure don't help you but will definitely throw you under the bus or undermine you. Overall, stay away. Yeah if you are right out of school, you gain a lot of technical and client facing experience that you can take somewhere else, but it's just not worth the drama.

Pros

"Whereas startups or other companies may invest in high salaries for their employees, it's short term thinking. Strata offers stability and job security for the long term." This is the company line, repeated by higher ups recently in response to high attrition. Takeaway: Strata is great if you're at a point in your life where you want to be comfortable, and you're willing to sacrifice compensation for job security.

Cons

"Whereas startups or other companies may invest in high salaries for their employees, it's short term thinking. Strata offers stability and job security for the long term." This is the company line, repeated by higher ups recently in response to high attrition. Takeaway: Strata refuses to be competitive with other workplaces where high growth and high pay are offered.
