      Does KPMG offer bonus pay?

      KPMG reviews

      Overall average experience

      Financial analyst/associate
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Colleagues on the same level as you are mostly friendly and approachable, good support from the company if you're pursuing professional qualifications

      Cons

Low pay and low bonus levels despite company claiming to have "increased revenue and profits YoY by 80%", managers consistently demand availability late at night, rather toxic culture of enforced overtime

      Culture

      Senior manager
      Current employee
      Hamilton, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great culture, great management, no politics, good bonus

      Cons

Low base pay, long hours in audit

      Not so great

      Associate consultant
      Current employee
      Pune
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nothing great about it to say

      Cons

Too much politics, Not good culture, No bonuses, no Promotion

Good work environment with less benefits

      Senior associate
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nice colleagues with a lot of experience and always open to questions.

      Cons

Pay and benefits compared to other boutiques or banks is not competitive with low bonus pay and intensive working hours

Good learning opportunity, toxic job lineups

      Audit associate
      Current employee
      Kuala Lumpur
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Less formal work environment - good for fostering closer personal relationships with colleagues & bosses Managers and most seniors are willing to teach junior staff - conditional on them having the time to do so Ability focused - the better you perform, the faster you learn & go up

      Cons

Seniors are often too busy and cannot teach junior staff in detail Juniors are increasingly thrown into the deep end with no meaningful support - training provided does not effectively address the issue as insufficient time is provided to learn & ongoing jobs will often interfere with the training - do your training and cannot finish your task, or do your task and don't learn anything from training, pick your poison Possible toxic interaction with managers and seniors - depend on your luck, some senior/manager/partner are very particular, audit work is already difficult enough, but they want to up the difficulty somemore Lack of staff - paid for 40 hours of work but expected to give 80. Will hear stories from management on how there is lack of resources and everyone expected to slash, job resources may be slashed by 20%, but no corresponding 20% increase in salaries for the team who pick up the slack, only higher recoverability and higher bonuses for management. Unsustainable resource allocation model - half the time the feasibility of completing audit work is based on the premise of working interns like full time associates but with 1/3 of the salary, unfair to the team as interns lack technical knowledge and unfair to the interns who are treated like slaves Toxic clients all around - either efficient but no manners, or nice but slow to provide PBC, and in some cases, slow and insufferable

Poor pay in South Africa and Company is performing badly in the tech advisory department

      Consultant
      Current employee
      Durban
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Get given a lot of ownership and responsibility early on Lot of trust and no micromanagement

      Cons

The Tech and Innovation department is pretty bad, there is no structure or direction and they expect you to work during personal time even as a junior. There is no support, and they aren't promoting even if you perform well. We have not received bonuses for 2 years and no promotions due to company performance. Even though you are performing well they don't account for that

KPMG UK - You give it all, you get nothing back

      Manager
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

People are just the best you can find in the industry. Extremely talented, clever and genuinely helpful, it's a shame the company does not value them enough. However, I've learnt a lot from my colleagues.

      Cons

It's tough to stay motivated when we're getting nothing back. Three years in a row with no pay raise, and a pitiful 3% bonus, while the firm flaunts record-breaking profits and partners are making the news with highest salaries ever. It's clear they don't value us, their most important asset. You work 40-50 hours a week on the edge of burnout with zero rewards or recognition, and there is so much pressure to stay on the go non-stop. There is no downtime between engagements, no time to train, and promotions have been on ice for years. Honestly, it's just a shame.

      Unfair layoffs

      Consultant
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Somewhat collaborative environment Wellhub Nothing else comes to mind

      Cons

Laid off with no rhyme or reason- not performance based and I was actively staffed on projects. Coincidentally, it happened 2 weeks before my promised maternity leave. They were strategic enough to bring me on and let me go before I could receive a raise, bonus or 401K match. I’ll also add that for being a big 4, KPMG is extremely unorganized internally. You have to bookmark a million links for common sites and go tapping on shoulders for documentation to reference for clients

      No work life balance

      External audit manager
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Flexible working, supportive environment, variety of client portfolio, mobility within departments (in audit).

      Cons

No work life balance, bonus is quite low, always struggling with resources. Keep a front to support mental health but really the don’t care at all.
