Does Nielsen offer relocation assistance?
Pros
- Brilliant client base already in place due to Nielsen being an established name / market leader, you'll get high exposure to some large brands and the ability to build relationships there. - Great working environment with some extremely clever people. - Great work / life balance with flexi working - The name will get you far after leaving Nielsen, instantly recognisable. - Majority of the senior management are great, you will learn a lot.
Cons
- Salaries across the board are extremely low for executives / managers, far lower than the industry average. - No benefits package or OTE for sales teams unless you were in a senior position (certain bands). - Extremely stagnant, little to no investment in certain areas of the UK business, heavy focus on US teams. - Little to no progression plans in place, promotions come around annually, if you are lucky and the increase is minimal.
Advice to Management
- Invest into your sales teams better. There was a distinct lack of motivation that came from having no compensation package in place.
No benefits package or OTE for sales teams unless you were in a senior position (certain bands).

Does Nielsen offer dental insurance?
Pros
Benefits, such as, medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, 401k (match only up to 5%), and paid time off, such as, vacation, sick, personal, and 1 volunteer day. And if you work in the field you will get issued a company car that you are given the option to purchase when it is time to reissue a new car due to high miles. As a field rep you can travel up to 3+ hrs. outside of where you reside.
Cons
If your role is a field rep or tech specialist you are required to store a lot of equipment, wear many hats, perform maintenance work, meet realistic key performances that are unmeasurable considering the number of projects, changes and ununiformed processes in place. The bonuses are not enticing considering Nielsen's expectations and the salary is very very low. The company promotes growth but from experience it's all talk but no action. For example I work on a project for 3 yrs and then the entire team was told 6months prior to the project ending that we had to look for jobs. I've applied for more that 10 roles within the company, I have networked myself and met with several mentors to no avail, no growth.
Advice to Management
Hear your people out. See you people as individuals and what their talents are to set them up to succeed and not fail. Listen to their concerns and hear them as concerns and not complaints.
