There was two video interview both schedule on the same day. One was a technical interview and the other was behavioural interview held by two different hiring managers. The hiring managers were pleasant and professional.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Express (Phoenix, AZ) in Mar 2014
Interview
You have a verbal qualifying interview, if you pass you have a written time based test over a specific technology and project management practices. The next phase is to be interviewed by the hiring manager. Next phase is to be interviewed by the team and the hiring manager peers. Next phase is the VP of the organization.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Express (Phoenix, AZ) in Aug 2016
Interview
Very Lengthy. I applied to several positions via their careers web site. I was first contacted for a video interview. They keep the video on file for some time. If you apply for a full time position, you should know that you will be barred from applying for any contract positions for some time. After my video interview, I was offered an onsite interview by an internal recruiter. I went to that interview, but I did not receive an offer. I actually had to follow up with the recruiter to find out I was rejected, and to be quite honest, that particular recruiter was not very professional. That was in June. I was contacted by a different recruiter for another position at the beginning of August on a Monday, and was invited onsite to interview on Friday with an Architect and another PM. (Presumably the hiring manager already reviewed my previous video interview.) About 2 weeks later, I was contacted for a 2nd onsite interview with the hiring manager and another person, although when I went to the interview on September 1st, only the hiring manager was available. A couple of weeks later, I was invited for a 3rd, short 30 minute on-site interview with a director of the PMO and one of her program managers. The day after on September 20th, I was contacted by another recruiter/HR person about an offer. The hiring manager was on vacation, and I followed up with that person about a week later. Finally, was given an offer September 28th, contingent on drug testing and background check. I was told the background check could take up to 4 WEEKS! I took the drug test and submitted the background check info right away the next day. I heard that everything was clear on 10/7. I wanted to give my current employer at least two weeks notice, and take some time off before the new job, so I negotiated a start date of 11/7. You have to join on a Monday because that's when they have orientations.
