      Infrastructure Engineer Interview

      17 Jun 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Credit Karma in Jun 2017

      Interview

HR interview followed by coding test. Then full day on-site. Mostly revolving around past projects, areas of interest and project design. Everyone was super smart and respectful. Even got a goodie bag just for interviewing with them.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Credit Karma (South San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2015

      Interview

An in house recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. Had a phone conversation with the recruiter and then a phone interview with the team lead. Was scheduled for in person a couple of days later. I was running late the day of the interview and gave a quick phone call to the recruiter and they were very professional about it. The recruiter gave me a quick tour of the office before taking me to the room where the interview will happen. She quickly explained how the interview works. I will be interviewed by a pair peers and depending how that goes, I will meet the next pair. In my case the first pair of peers looked at my resume and asked questions based it. One of the interviewers saw an experience I had mentioned and asked me to solve a problem based on that. I was able to solve this since I had faced the same issue before. It also happen to be an issue they had faced. At the end there was a coding exercise which was not difficult. As an interviewee I was also able to evaluate the team as unit. They worked well in pair which shows cohesiveness. Since the interview with the first pair of peers went well, the second pair was ushered in. The question s were based on my resume and the project I could be working on. This part of the interview is more analytical and problem solving approach. Second part seem to have gone well so the last pair came in. This time one person was a lead. This part of the interview was very analytical and hands on troubleshooting. Thirty minutes was set aside to solve a coding exercise and you were given a laptop to do this with the language of your choice After the 3rd round of interview the hiring manager came in. He seemed to have been debriefed and came in to see why you want to join and what are your longterm goals. The next day after the interview the recruiter contacted me to schedule a call with HR. At the end of the process got a great offer but declined for personal reasons.
