I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IBM (Chennai) in Jan 2016
Interview
An interview is a conversation where questions are asked and answers are given.[1] In common parlance, the word "interview" refers to a one-on-one conversation with one person acting in the role of the interviewer and the other in the role of the interviewee. The interviewer asks questions, the interviewee responds, with participants taking turns talking. Interviews usually involve a transfer of information from interviewee to interviewer, which is usually the primary purpose of the interview, although information transfers can happen in both directions simultaneously. One can contrast an interview which involves bi-directional communication with a one-way flow of information, such as a speech or oration.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at IBM in Oct 2025
Interview
After online application submission, next step was a machine-based interview. The Recorded Competency Video is a short assessment that allows you "to demonstrate your workplace competency beyond what a traditional resume allows. You will be presented with a pre-recorded question, and you will be asked to record your response . This is a timed assessment."
"This recorded interview will take between 10-20 minutes to complete. You will respond to multiple prerecorded interview questions. For each question you will be given 1 minute to prepare and 3 minutes to respond."
I was presented with four questions in total. There was a practice question available that lets you get a feel for the process.
