      Management Consulting Interview

      29 Oct 2018
      Anonymous employee
      State College, PA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PwC (State College, PA) in Sept 2017

      Interview

Applied through Campus recruiting. Before my interviews I went to a few info sessions and other PwC campus events to connect with employees and get good advice on the interview process. There were 2 rounds of interviews. The first consisted of 2 back-to-back 30 minute in person interviews. One was a case study and one was a behavioral interview. The night before the interviews, we had a networking dinner where we sat with the other interviewees and our interviewer. This helped calm my nerves and get to know your interviewer in a non-stressful setting. The next morning, my case study was first, and they give you a paper with the prompt and give you about 10 minutes to read through it. Then you can reiterate the prompt in your own words and start explaining how you would go about solving the problem. I had no experience with case interviews before this so I just made sure to communicate my thought process and go through the prompt logically. The behavioral was pretty relaxed and consisted of going over my resume and asking standard "tell me about a time when..." questions. The interviewer and I clicked right away which is why I think I got the offer. Just be as friendly and conversational as you can. If you got an interview, you're already qualified on paper. Now they're looking to see if they'd want to sit in an airport with you every Monday through Thursday, so just be friendly and easy to talk to. The second round interview was ~30 minutes on Google Hangouts so it's your typical skype interview. This one was another behavioral interview, and they ask more of the same questions about your interview. I was very lucky with this interviewer as well and just asked me questions about my resume and took particular interest in one specific project I had a few summers back. Make sure you take this interview somewhere that you won't be interrupted and you can stay focused. I did it in my living and room and kicked my roommates out beforehand.
