Phone screen with non-technical in person interview. Mostly personality and behavioral questions. No technical questions asked. Overall the process reflected the job which was mostly project management and dealing with different parts of the organization.

Pretty easy. Questions on ur past experiences and availability. How familiar you are with lab equipment. Some behavioral questions. Questions on the information you have on your resume. Nothing technical. That’s about it. Good luck.

In the beginning of the call, The hr asked me if i ever need sponsorship for this position and I said yes. And right after she said it’s not going to work and hung up. The worst experience ever.

    Interview

The interview was the most professional I have ever had. They were all about safety first. This is a company that I can grow with and retire happy. I was so excited I went and told my wife all about it immediately. They were down to earth and completely honest. I done research before I went and they were right on the money. I start Monday morning.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Robert Bosch in October 2020.

    Interview

I had an initial phone interview w/ an outsourced HR rep. The second phone interview was with the role's manager, also coordinated by an outsourced (but different) HR rep. The third phone interview included the hiring mgr again plus dev team leaders, about 7 people. After that call, I didn't hear anything for a couple of months.

I was prepared and confident for the team call, but it was a little haphazard - 8 people on a call is challenging, but it felt disorganized and awkward on their end. A video chat would have been more successful. On the team interview, multiple key responsibilities were discussed which were neither listed on the job description, nor mentioned by the hiring manager on our 1:1 call. They came out of left field, though one of the big ones, liaising with international suppliers, I would have been excellent at (and have the experience to back up). I still enjoyed the call and felt an affinity for the team right away.

As a woman seeking a role on a very technical team, and with some, but admittedly limited mechanical dev experience, it felt like I was put in a defensive position as to my eligibility for the role. I got the distinct impression that they were choosing between me and another candidate, and they needed to rule me out as inexperienced. Because of COVID, as well as having been unable to fill the PM role for some months, I think it was a risk for them to bring me on, rather than pick someone with a better resume, even if they had less people/leadership skills. Clearly they took a safer bet and hired someone with the experience, which I totally understand.

I didn't hear anything after the third interview for months, eventually getting a canned email, which was kind of lame but to be expected. Bosch is a great company, and I hope the team does well in 2021.

    Interview

After long conversations with HR, they'll pass you to the interview round to meet with a project lead. The lead asks lots of question about your interest in the company, tell you about the current projects going on and if you are interested in any of the project. You must have a portfolio for the lead to look through and they'll ask about your experience with the profile. HR will be at the interview and mostly to monitor and work out the logistics.

We have XYZ projects going on, are you interested in XYZ ?
