      Territory Sales Manager- CMF Interview

      21 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Melbourne
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stryker (Melbourne) in Jul 2021

      Interview

After an online application, you are emailed a request for a 10-20 minute phone interview. Firstly, l researched the recruiter who was in the Talent Acquisition role for only 2months. She has no prior experience of recruiting for healthcare or devices for a F100 company. Her lack of finesse and poor understanding of the industry was apparent from the onset. My first thoughts were “What has become of Stryker?” The recruiter was inexperienced, unprepared and had no knowledge of the portfolio performance during COVID-19. When asked, her response was “Well l wasn’t with the company then so l don’t know?” Surprising it didn’t cross her mind to find out what had been going on for the last FY. As to whether the portfolio had performed to budget, l was met with the response “Well you will need to ask the Sales Team?” Ridiculous! The interview went to over an hour, and it was apparent that she was using this opportunity to hone her craft and industry knowledge which she knew nothing about. She used the process to learn and understand her role better rather than recruit talent. At times it was like talking to an amateur, even when remuneration came up and a possible share offering. She did not know what that was? Like company shares, l said as part of the salary package? It was exhausting and embarrassing for Stryker to have gone completely downhill in this manner. Honesty there are no excuses for this level of incompetence and Inexperience. Another conversation revolved around a portfolio restructure due to moving someone out of leadership and when pressed further, she backpeddled and it seemed like she should not have divulged that information. Honestly what a disgraceful and embarrassing experience. Never again Stryker!
