      Distribution Ops Manager Interview

      15 Aug 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Mar 2012

      Interview

Applied online and was contacted by a Target recruiter 7 days later to set up a phone interview. She left the time and day up to me for scheduling--very convenient. Standard opening question asking me to recount my resume and explain a gap in work history. About 10 minutes in to the phone call, I realized that this position wasn't a good fit because it involved about 75% people management and 25% program management. Recruiter was also very honest about the schedule requirements of up to 14 hour days during peak seasons and the need for staff coverage for both shifts. There was no relocation offered for the position so it would have been a very lengthy commute. We pretty much agreed that this position wouldn't work for me and politely ended the call. Eight days later I received a system-generated email saying that they had filled the position.
