      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (San Jose, CA) in Nov 2012

      Interview

I literally just received my offer yesterday so I can give you a fresh perspective on the interview process. These are very straight forward interview and questions, you just have to be prepared. 1) NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF, yes fun, fast and friendly is important but so is confidence. 2) Go through this website and come up with answers to all the questions listed because they rarely deviate outside of the ones posted on this website. 3) Be patient like you have heard its a long process. Any who, target came to our campus career fair and after talking to an ETL I applied online. I received and email from the campus liaison saying that they wanted to schedule face to face 2:1 interview with some store team leads. I then got an email a few days later asking to move my interview time up so that I could meet with the District Team Lead on the same day (naturally I agreed). So My first interview with the store team leaders was the most difficult to me, I didn't really know what to expect but I think it went okay. Since I had another hour and a half before my meeting with the DTL they had me interview with the Training and Development person (I think they just did this to waste time). That one went really well, he was really nice. Then i had my 3rd interview of the day with the DTL and HR business partner. This interview is a lot more relaxed but he also kind of makes up his own questions, they're still behavioral but there are a lot of follow up questions, luckily I was able to make personal connection with both the DTL and HR business partner which is why I think it went well. He told me they would email me to schedule a final interview. I got the email about 4 days later scheduling me for a final phone interview in 3 weeks with the HR manager and Regional VP. This conversation is really short and simple. They asked me to tell them about myself, why target, where do I see myself and 3-5 years, and 1 behavioral question. It's a really easy interview to have after doing 3 before it. I got my offer at the end of the conversation with them. Honestly, just practice saying your answers especially in front of people and you should be fine, make sure to pull examples from multiple sources on your resume. Also don't worry if the question asked has never really happened to you. For example, name a time with you disagreed with an employer. If your like me and you never disagreed with an employer, make some ish up lol

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why Target?) Tell me about a time when you had to present a concern that a group was not comfortable with voicing? How do you handle conflict with co-workers and give an example?Tell me a time something didn't go as planned? Tell me about a time you made a mistake and what did you? Tell me about a time you were given a task and there was an unforeseen obstacle? Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses? Explain a time when you had to make a difficult decision with little or no time? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Tell me about a time when you did not agree with your employer, how did you handle it? Tell me about a time when you had to motivate others? Tell me about a time your skill set was challenged? Tell me about a time you had to give someone feedback? Tell me about a time you had to change your leadership style? Why are you a great fit for target? Where do you see yourself with the company in 3-5 years? Tell me about a time you had to motivate a team?

I applied through university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)

      Interview

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
