Then a leadership assessment online. A week later I was scheduled for a face to face interview with the District Team Leader.

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Target (Omaha, NE) in Dec 2018

      Interview

I was first contacted by a recruiter who asked some general information regarding my resume, followed by some behavioral, situational questions. After we spoke for about 45 minutes, she advised me that she was moving me on to the next interview- a face to face interview with the District Team Leader and District HR partner. The face to face interview was brief and though I wasn’t strictly professionally dressed, I felt overdressed as the interviewers were in leggings and casual tops. The questions were exactly the same as asked by the recruiter. Altogether, it took about 30 minutes. I spent more time talking to the receptionist. It’s only been the weekend, so still waiting to hear something.

      Store Team Leader Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Portland, OR)

      Interview

The interview process begins with a phone screening by a recruiter from their corporate office. After that, the process seems to diverge. In both of my attempts at working for this company, I was told that an interview with field managers would be the next step, and would happen quickly. In neither instance was that the case. In the first instance, nothing happened at all and a local internal candidate was promoted. In the second instance, I was given a working interview with a Store Team Leader about 30 miles from home and told that the District Leader was too busy to meet with me at that point, but to keep the process moving along, I was skipping that step. After that four hours process, I received a phone call telling me that they had found an internal candidate that was "willing" to relocate...but that the VERY next position that came up, I would be the first candidate considered. I told the recruiter that I appreciated the position this decision put her in, but that I was no longer "willing" to work for Target.
