      Academic Account Manager Interview

      20 Apr 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters in Feb 2013

      Interview

I was contacted approximately a month after applying by an HR Representative. She asked very general questions to determine my interest level and confirm my resume. I was then scheduled for a phone interview with the position's direct manager. That phone interview lasted just over a half hour and was pretty standard. We discussed my resume, previous positions, and I was asked a few questions that begin with "tell me about a time when you ....." A few days later I was invited to an in person interview in the city that the job would be based in. I was given 3 time slots to choose from so my assumption was the direct manager would be interviewing 3 people in person. While the in person interview was a formal interview, it felt less formal than the previous phone interview. We discussed the position, talked about the area, discussed the market, but there were no additional questions about my resume or about my reaction to situations in previous positions. The following day, I was offered a final phone interview with the direct manager's supervisor and was made aware that there were 2 of us continuing. The final interview was a reiteration of the second phone interview. We discussed my resume, previous positions, and my reactions to contrived situations. The interviewer, however, seemed more sales oriented than the others.
