      React Native Developer Interview

      23 Feb 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Gdańsk
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Gdańsk)

      Interview

There were 3 interviewers. Each was asking tech questions connected to their work field. There was some code inspection, you need to find mistakes in short snippets. Overall experience was ok, though I did not receive any feedback afterwards.

      React Native Developer Interview

      13 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Gdańsk
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Gdańsk) in Aug 2024

      Interview

The interview consisted of two parts: a conversation with the coordinator (1 hour) and a technical interview (1 hour). The overall process was straightforward, but the technical interview was the most unpleasant part. There were two developers conducting the interview, along with one lead who remained on mute the entire time and didn’t ask any questions. The interview itself was relatively simple — it involved questions about my experience, React Native components (like TouchableOpacity, Pressable), and general React concepts. There was also a code review segment, where I was shown small React functions in a notepad and asked to suggest improvements. What made the experience frustrating was both the apparent lack of competency among the developers and the uncertainty surrounding the project. These two developers were looking to add a third person to their team. The project they described was just an experimental idea to improve something within the company, but there was no clarity about what would happen after the initial development phase. Based on their questions and responses, it seemed even they didn’t have a clear understanding of the project's future. In the end, I was actually relieved to be rejected. Interestingly, the position remained open for another three months after that.
