Question 1
The interviewer has no authority to belittle the candidate and make fun of them in any way. They should not be allowed to make sarcastic comments while interviewing. I had a horrible and disturbing experience today. It felt like giving away my self-respect for the sake of getting a job. After few Q&A I was given a coding question, and I asked an invalid question at the beginning of it, the interviewer responded in a rude way saying "Why are you even asking that? Just when you say you won't talk, you start talking. I think you just want to talk to someone while coding, I will not tell you anything. Now we will talk only after you finish the coding, and that should be done in 5 minutes" How am I supposed to perform well if the interviewer says such things in between? In general, here in USA, all interviewers expect a candidate to be interactive during the coding test to understand their thought process. He gave me just 5 minutes to solve the coding question, and a bonus additional minute as per him (as if it was a favor), after which he closed the editor without even conveying. When I asked him whether he closed the editor, he responded LAUGHINGLY, and SARCASTICALLY "Oh did you get that, I thought you would never get that" I was offended and hurt by his statements and his tone. The interviewer understood that he made a mistake and said sorry. But will a sorry take my negative experience away? - NO. I could have performed better if I was provided with the right environment. It is surprising that he behaved this way when he knew it was the wrong thing to do! Questions included - UI/UX Principles, AWS Services, and a problem-solving question in Java.
