I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at athenahealth (Watertown, MA) in Aug 2019
Interview
I met with 4 of the employees, one current recruiting coordinator, one recruiter, and two department heads. I applied through an agency, I had an interview fairly quickly (2 to 3 days) after the recruiter submitted me. It was 2 hours long, the culture of the company carried through the interview and I was impressed by the campus.
The interview process was very smooth, and went fairly quicky. It started with a phone screen with the hiring manager, and then two hour panel interviews. The interview questions were situational, and some were difficult to answer.

Interview
I had a 30 minute phone screen and a 2 hour in-person interview maybe a week or so later. The in-person interview itself was actually really nice. Everyone was warm and approachable, and the office itself is a cool place. The questions they asked were not too difficult. However, I received the rejection phone call no less than 15 minutes after leaving the building. The recruiter told me that they really liked me as a person but I didn't have experience using this one specific type of software that they require for the role. I understand why they wouldn't want to train me- this was a fast paced role in a temporary contract. But if this was a deal breaker, they easily could have asked me for this information during the phone screen. My resume does not indicate that I have used this software. I found it frustrating that I wasted the time and energy on a two hour interview, plus travel time, because I am currently working and have limited time off to take looking for a new job.
