Software Engineering Senior Analyst

Position Overview

Are you a hands‑on engineer who loves building reliable, scalable, user‑centric software? As a Software Engineering Senior Analyst, you’ll work as a full‑stack contributor across frontend and backend—designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, and responsive UIs—to deliver amazing pharmacy experiences for patients and prescribers. You’ll collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and platform teams to turn ideas into secure, performant software that advances Evernorth’s mission.

As a Software Engineering Analyst, you’ll be a hands‑on, full‑stack engineer contributing to the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and high‑quality software solutions in the pharmacy domain.

In this role, you will work across frontend and backend technologies to build modern web applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices that support critical pharmacy experiences for patients, prescribers, and internal customers. You will collaborate closely with product owners, UX designers, platform teams, and fellow engineers to translate business needs into reliable, performant, and user‑centric solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design & Build: Develop scalable, resilient services using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs; implement microservice designs that are observable, testable, and easy to operate.
• Full‑Stack Delivery: Build modern single‑page UIs with React.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS3; integrate with backend APIs and ensure great UX and accessibility.
• Data Layer: Model and query data across SQL & NoSQL—Oracle, Postgres/MongoDB— ensure integrity, performance, and migration readiness.
• Code Quality: Write clean, well‑documented code; add unit/integration tests; participate in peer reviews; uphold Evernorth engineering standards and secure‑by‑design practices.
• API Craftsmanship: Define contracts, versioning, pagination, error models; document with OpenAPI/Swagger; build reliable consumer‑first APIs.
• Collaboration: Partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, and fellow engineers to refine requirements, make build‑vs‑buy trade‑offs, and de‑risk delivery early.
• DevOps & Releases: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy); participate in change/release activities and post‑deploy verification.
• Troubleshooting: Investigate issues found by QA/product support; analyze logs/metrics; deliver fixes with tests and clear RCA notes.
• Performance/Resilience: Use caching, async processing, and efficient queries; measure and improve latency, throughput, and error budgets.
• Security & Compliance: Follow secure coding practices and data‑handling guidelines appropriate for healthcare software (HIPAA context).

Education:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in programming, web application development.

Skills:

• Backend: Java 11+, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate; REST API design and implementation.
• Frontend: React.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS3.
• Databases: SQL & NoSQL—Oracle, Postgres/MongoDB
• API Development: Contract design, versioning, error models, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• AI‑Assisted Engineering:Effective use of AI copilots (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Cursor) to generate/refactor code safely, draft unit/integration tests (JUnit) and improve coverage, accelerate bug analysis (summarize logs, identify failure patterns, propose fixes) assist with security hygiene while never exposing secrets/PHI and validating outputs before commit.
• Quality & Delivery: Unit/integration testing practices; Git/GitHub workflows; working knowledge of CI/CD Jenkins pipeline.
• Team Skills: Clear communication, ability to work with on‑shore/off‑shore teams in an agile setup.
