Pros

Good culture overall. People are generally great to work with and many sharp people too. Easily better than other companies I worked at. If you’re on a big project it can definitely help your career otherwise it’s sink or swim as nobody will focus on what you do.

Cons

Given I saw hiring and year end rating processes it is even more frustrating in hindsight how this company focuses on playing favorites and making it incredibly difficult for some people to get promoted while others play the coffee chat culture and move up quickly while just delivering their work. On top of that the salary is absolutely mediocre compared to other companies in NYC, especially in financial services. Stay here too long and you’ll forget that companies are giving you total comp packages that are a minimum of 20% more for the SAME job level. Yet for a promotion here, I had to fight for a 8% increase and I wasn’t at the top range of my level. Come here for a couple of years for the mat/pat leave benefit and get out ASAP.

Pros

- Complimentary lunch and starbucks everyday - On-site clinic for basic check ups - Hybrid

Cons

you will be taking phone calls every minute of the day. There will come a time where you feel like at the bottom of the world. You will ask yourself "is my role in life to help people reset their password online and assist them in logging in?" You cannot use the bathroom whenever you want, they have time coding that if you "abuse" them you will be flagged and subject to discipline. You have to give world class service but at the same time rush them off the phone or else you are not getting paid a good bonus. You will quickly find yourself gasping for air and time to relax when you take 50+ calls a day , you will feel drained. When is finally time to move up there is a high chance you will be paid less than you're current role as there are no bonuses in higher roles.
