Pros
great work-life balance - can work from home, can leave at a reasonable hr (many people leave between 5-6:30), great summer hours encouraged to change roles every 18-24 months nice people nurturing/supportive environment focused on development smart leaders, who spend a lot of time leading sessions to develop employees maniacal focus on networking (3 months at Amex can make you into a great networker)
Cons
some smart people, but lots of mediocre people mediocrity is tolerated by leaders and management need to consistently manage up in order to move up - doing your job is not enough - you have to network all the time, make friends, be involved in office politics, never offend anyone no accountability - employees come to meetings late, miss deadlines, etc., and even their leaders usually don't care if this happens
