Pros

I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and intelligent co-workers at this firm. Working together with them as a team really brings the output to another level. I am thankful to work with these wonderful people.

Cons

Simply put, management is horrendous. - Terrible communication - They will tell you anything to keep you working there. Then come review time, they completely change their story. I have heard this horror story, and seen it happen to colleagues too many times to count - Compensation is the lowest in the industry, but they tell you that you should be thankful - Most managers and higher cannot actually do the work that they are supervising, which means they don't understand the intricacies of it and how it actually gets done. This leads to them just pushing people around, while not knowing what it takes to actually reach the goals they are setting.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
