Pros

Good name on cv, gym on site and good Resturant

Cons

This place tops the worst place one can work for in Glasgow financial services. The first month one comes in bubbly, happy and full of confidence to be working for such a prestigious bank and this place finds a way to strip you out of that. There is undertones of a hush hush environment being very hierarchical, racism and favouritism. Promotions already planned out before everyone gets a chance to apply for it, so when you apply someone already has got it even if announced end of year or worst case scenario other people managed out so they can promote who they want to promote. If you’re an Analyst or Associate expect to be treated like bottom barrel with no proper training. And the shocking part is you come in with external and extensive experience then moved into an Associate role and treated like trash. If you see anything that says Fund Accounting, Disclosures or Compensation Analyst, Associate or Director role please run. If you’re also a contractor you are also treated like trash. The teams are also less mobile being that you have to be in a role for 18 months before you can be supported to move teams, so if you find yourself in a bad team you become stuck and only option is to leave: These teams have high turnover for a reason and the people who have been in these teams have been also there for years for a reason, they can’t take this behaviour anywhere else.

Pros

Very good co-workers, Great technology stack. Lot of new technologies and integration with current work.

Cons

They dont even give you a MS cup. They ask you to buy it for 5$. So cheap! Management big on "Giving back", Immediate managers do not like it and are not supportive. Lay off employees twice a year to show profits. Only worried about shareholders and clients. Don't know the criteria for lay-off. So, you are always worried if it is your turn. They boast about mental health and wellness. No good, when they layoff employees like this. HR = Horrible Resources. When you are laid off, they shoo you away as if you are a fly. You feel miserable. They themselves say - "We are better than Facebook or Oracle. We dont fire you at 6 AM over email." Gosh! What a comparison!
