Pros

-> Good work-life balance - quite a relaxed atmosphere; -> Free food.

Cons

-> Processes suck - it is still not clear how the work is distributed, what are the priorities, what should I work on right now when there are 5 different tasks/bug reports coming from 5 different sources. -> I don't understand what the managers are here for. My manager does not know what I am doing. I think he just stays here since late 80s waiting to get retired. -> What do I need to get promoted? This is not transparent and subjective. -> Our product sucks and people don't believe there is going to be tomorrow. When I was about to start my job at SAP, I was reading all these positive reviews and "Great place to work" reports... One thing which catches the eyes from day one are facilities - the headquarters buildings are old, look like an average university inside as opposed to all these new and shiny IT companies. Sometimes I get a feeling SAP is stuck in the 90's. And again facilities - why there is almost no one clearing the office... They vacuum probably once a week or month.

Pros

I really liked my role at SAP. After being a cloud Customer Success Manager supporting strategic clients for several years, I moved into a group doing digital customer outreach including producing newsletters, release enablement, webcasts, documentation, event registrations, etc. Salary and bonuses were good, no complaints there.

Cons

No real cons for the job that I was in, except that our group was eliminated by the corporate restructuring and reduction in workforce in North America in 2025. I would have loved to stay but unfortunately we probably showed up on a restructuring spreadsheet somewhere and it was determined that our services were no longer needed. We off-boarded most of our work to other existing employees (who already had full time jobs), which felt unfair to them, but that is how it shook out.
