Some directors are great with supporting those who are struggling. They’ll do review sessions to help pinpoint what you’re doing well and what’s not going so well. It helps to get that feedback and without it some may feel super lost with nothing to grasp on to for life support.
Cons
The culture sucks! Some directors or leaders act like it’s a frat. They form cliques and pretend they care about everyone but they don’t. They will share information with some people in the team/in the office, and once word spreads they make passive comments about how they have to share it with everybody and be better at communication or they’re gonna get crucified by everyone. They just changed to a 5 day in office standard to drive performance yet there is not much to work on in the slow market. At the beginning of the year they preached that we would be okay through this recession and no one would be affected yet they started being super stingy on expenses and just rolled out their first wave of layoffs. If you want to feel safe and secure in your job this is not the one!
