Pros
Well-known brand name with good leadership experience. Co-workers are great, they have to work very hard. They can become friends for life.
Cons
They are Walmart colored in red. The corporate human resources and store & district leadership said the job would be 45-50 hours a week. The responsibilities would include mostly leadership activities with some task based work. When I settled into the role at the store my STL expected me to spend all my time stocking shelves, checking out customers, dumping trash, recycling cardboard, cleaning up spills, and so on. That made it hard to do perform my duties as an assistant manager. At that time I was told by my STL and field leadership members that I need to my managerial activities (writing performance reviews, statuses, scheduling, etc...) on my days and weekends off. So much for the 45-50 hour work week... so much for any chance at a life outside of work for that matter! I walked away after just a few months and luckily got my previous job back.
