Pros

Everyone is always helpful irrespective of their positions. After seeing this don't start comparing with your current company. :)

Cons

It will never end if I start mentioning everything, though I will try to make it short. I will be only talking about the PSO team with this company. 1. If you are interviewing for the PSO team, then don't think you are joining in a product based company. It will be worse than a Service-Based MNC. In terms of employee benefits, also you will not think of it as a Product Based Company. 2. Usually, they will hire Junior people from Service-Based MNC by giving a little more hike so that they join without thinking much. 3. Here, everything depends on how much time you are spending in the office. Most of the time, you will feel that you are in a College. 4. Main culture of the PSO team is to enter timesheets. Every day they will expect you to enter 6-7 hours to enter that much, you need to work a minimum of 10 hours per day. So, there is no such scope to divide your work into multiple days. 5. Only there is Functional learning, zero technical learning. You will never grow in your career as a technical person. 6. There is no training, no document to understand the functionality. You have to debug and understand. No one knows how to implement anything, everyone will suggest different options. Functionality also complex that's why everyone helps else no one will be able to do the starting. **Expalnation for the Pros 7. You need to call most of the people "Sir" else they will feel offended. 8. Too much micromanagement. They do not care about your health, they will make you work even if you are sick and on sick leave. 9. I will not say work culture is not good. I would like to say that there is no work culture at all. 10. After coming to the office you will never know when your work will finish today. Stretching your working hours is a very common thing. You need to forget your personal life. 11. If you are thinking you are only interested in functional learning then also it is not a good place to plan for that.

Pros

No pros at all, they may pay you more than other companies, but will make you work 12+ hours everyday, if you want feel like a slave join this company.

Cons

No Job security, they asking people, to either put down their paper or they will be put in PIP and terminated, without even evaluating their PIP. very old, Legacy technologies, they will force you to work 12-14 hrs everyday, if you are not working late they will insult you in front of every one. they do not give KT, will expect you learn everything on the work, they do not have any documentation from where you can learn their framework. Too much micro management, they do not care about your health, they will make you work even if you are sick and on sick leave. They will not provide any training and will expect you know all technologies of the world, else insult, example, they will comment c ++ and Java are same...why you are unable to work on c++, if you are a java resource. You will start hating yourself after joining this company. Managers will reward, who are from certain region and lick their feet.

a. Free tea and coffee. b. Good infrastructure. c. MacBooks. e. Good for people with lacklustre attitude as they won't fire you as long as you are good in doing donkey work . f. Quarterly bonus and okayish hike.

///This review is very specific to the Active Omni Cloud Ops Systems engineering team based in bangalore and based on my personal opinion after spending more than two years in this team./// a. Ladies, please beware before joining this team. This team is owned by a sexist and bigot middle management who think a woman can not do good technical work and they are only made to do repetitive donkey work . They think extremely low of all the women who aren't capable of doing good technical work and will never assign meaning-full work to them. b. People are harassed by the middle management in name of flexible working ours. You need to be available 16 hours everyday including weekends and for any issue they will call you and ask to work on them. You don't even get any compoff for all the busy working weekends and Indian holidays. c. There is extreme partiality in work assignment and no transparency. You won't get good work and mostly same repetitive work will be assigned to you. Even if you fight with the management, the good technical work will be taken care only by the them and selected people.Middle Management is highly biased for few people in the team. d. No collaboration or communication in the team. You won't be aware about what's going on with other folks or what development is happening. Middle and higher management do not promote team building activities and proper communication across team members. e. Middle management will never want you to grow as a technical person. They will always try to create dependency on them instead of letting others work independently. You cant even send a mail without asking them. Out of all the insecurities they have in the world, they are ruining other's career and after 2 years you will start doubting on yourself. f. As a new joiner, managers won't cooperate with you. They won't allow you to take up responsibility and create fear in you. Then they will say that you are getting scared and let us help you. They will showcase themselves as a saviour who came to rescue you. Such a high level of politics, they should sit in the parliament. They think people don't understand all these politics. g. Horrible work life balance as I stated earlier. You work in two shifts and alternate weekend on call with Indian holidays on call too. You don't get any week-off during peak and there is no compoff for all of the extra days you have worked. This kind of work culture is promoted by higher management too. h. They say you have job security here as we never fired anyone ever but they don't say that the management will harass you and make you to resign by yourself. Once you resign nobody from management will ever try to communicate with you and ask you the reason why you resigned. They don't believe in retaining the talents and they think anyone can be replaced. i. Useless higher management and senior directors. They say we are a flat organization but they won't take any action on middle management. They are aware of all the petty politics happening in the team but they are extremely ignorant. You will be in good book as long as you are extending your shift and abiding by their rules. j. "SIR" culture is promoted by the management which is worst than service based companies. All the middle and senior managers love to be called "SIR". They will get offended if you call them by their name. k. Pathetic HR team. you only talk with them twice. Once before joining and once while leaving the company. They don't care what is going on within the team. No feedback asked and they blindly listen to the middle management. l. No respect to employees once you resign. In exit interview they will ask which company you are joining and how much salary was offered to you. A formality about the your experience and the reason of quitting. m. All good people left already from this team and rest of the older folks will leave soon because of high level of politics done by the management. All of them were made to resign by the mid management by not assigning them any work. All the new joinees are from one specific place and there is no diversity in the team. You wont feel like you are working in an MNC. n. Too much organizational changes in Devops/MRE team and there is no transparency of who is doing what. Being a part of systems team all you will do is to run scripts created by core team and after working here for few years you wont be able to compete with others outside. Run, Run , Run.......Before you join this team and ruin your career.
