How do we make the time to learn a new skill while on the job? In our remote first organisation, we took the challenge to encourage our Cactizens to upskill. We gamified our learning modules on LinkedIn Learning and rolled out the Bingo Challenge. Our campaign #MakeSpaceForLearning, drove participation and we saw a whopping 893 courses completed in 2 months! Here’s to us learning something new every day and living by our guiding principle of “Continuously destroy your past to reinvent yourself!” #LinkedInLearning #PeopleOfCACTUS #LifeAtCACTUS #MakeSpaceForLearning #GamifiedLearning #LivingTheCACTUSWay
CACTUS started with an idea to help researchers share their work with the world. Today, as we took our 21st turn around the sun, we looked back at our journey. A whopping 2M+ papers edited, 500K+ clients served; 1200+ Cactizens, and 5000+ freelancers have come together to advance research and solve some of the planet’s most pressing problems. We are so proud to support researchers and our clients who are moving the world forward every day. This year, the theme for our Foundation Day event was ‘Metamorphosis’. Our leaders joined to tell the story of innovation, grit, action, and perseverance that helped us scale, and what’s coming up next in the universe of research. Thank you to all of our Cactizens, supporters, and well-wishers for helping us make the last 21 years a success. P.S. In most parts of the world, we are old enough to officially have a tipple today 😊🍻 #PeopleOfCACTUS #LifeAtCACTUS #CACTUS21 #Metamorphosis

Meet one of our ML interns who worked on new features for Paperpal, our AI-based language correction tool for academic writing. "We explored a lot of large, recent language models. It was really exciting to work on cutting-edge technology that has only just entered the market and find ways in which it can help researchers!" On asked about his experience being a #CACTUSIntern, he says "These 8 weeks were more of a course than an internship for me. From a physics and math background, I pivoted to tech and Machine learning through the fellowship at @plakshauniversity and I'm so glad I landed this internship with CACTUS. I loved the passion that everyone in the tech team has and how I could have a conversation about anything with literally anyone on the team." As we near the end of his 8-week internship, here's celebrating Shivay, his ideas, and his zest for learning! 🎉 #PeopleOfCACTUS #InternsOfCACTUS #CACTUSIntern #LifeAtCACTUS #MachineLearning #AI #LifeAtCACTUSTech

“A lot of my ‘firsts’ have been with CACTUS. My first house, my first international trip, and my first child. I am now happy to have a ‘second’ here” – Divya Nair, our HR Director and second-time returning mom at CACTUS. Divya just got back from her 6-month maternity leave last week and is now the proud mother of her second little boy! “What makes the leave meaningful is the support that the organization provides you. In the one week since my return, leaders and team members have been letting me figure out what timing works for me best, and giving me the space to come up to speed at my own pace. Now that we are remote, I don’t even have to worry about the separation anxiety," she says. With 54% of women in the organization and 90% of them joining back after their maternity leave, we are proud to create a culture of empathy, support, and high performance for our Cactizen moms. Our 6 month maternal leave policy can be combined with another 6 months of unpaid leave to give you more time with your new born. Here's to Divya and every other mother figure out there! Happy Mother’s Day :)

Meet Kimaya, our project manager in technology. Kimaya is an expert in selecting the best agile methodologies for diverse projects and ensures success through tailored approaches. We caught up with Kimaya at the 'All tech' meet up, where the tech team came together to collaborate on new projects and products. We also hung out with Swara, Kimaya's 5 year old who wanted to meet the Cactizens she’s only seen on screen before! “When CACTUS went remote, it was a major learning for me on change management and handling projects remotely with the same level of efficiency. I now ‘project manage’ two little ones at home and multiple projects for technology. It’s great that my daughter gets to see how teams come together and collaborate both remotely and in person,” she says. #PeopleOfCACTUS #LifeAtCACTUS #LifeAtCACTUSTech #ProjectManager #Technology #Agile #AllTech
Meet Mafalda, our scientific writer in Cactus Life Sciences who simplifies complex medical information to make it more accessible to patients and healthcare workers. “What I like the most about CACTUS is reflected in their guiding principle – 'Continuously destroy your past to reinvent yourself’. In CACTUS, there is no exact way to do something. There is flexibility to invent and reinvent yourself along the way as long as we keep maximizing the success of what we do.” Read on to know how Mafalda is being a #VoiceOfScience!
