What is working from home like at Pitney Bowes?

I really appreciate the flexibility to work from home, which helps me maintain a good work-life balance. I’m surrounded by highly skilled and talented colleagues, which makes for a collaborative and innovative work environment. There are plenty of opportunities for career growth and advancement within the company. The company offers various learning and development programs that help me enhance my skills and knowledge. I enjoy having a flexible work schedule, allowing me to manage my time effectively. The vacation packages are generous, giving me ample time off to recharge and spend time with family and friends. The health benefits provided have limited coverage, which doesn’t always meet my needs. The health benefits can be quite costly, which is a concern for me. There are limited opportunities for travel to meet face-to-face with coworkers, which impacts team bonding and collaboration.

Pay, lack of focus, annual changes in structure

Lots of PTO. Access to benefits. Friendly team to work with. Co workers bond as a team and help each other. They provide biometric screenings which you can get bonuses for and give you a bonus if you refer someone and they get hired. Casual dress. Work from home. LGBTQ friendly. We had two transgender employees when I was there and one of them even made it into a management position, everyone respected him and called him by his correct name and pronouns.

LOW PAY! I was working as an account manager which is a job with a HUGE amount of responsibility and when I left I STILL wasn’t clearing $20 an hour. Like 8 years ago they said they were raising everyone’s wages by $2 per hour. A couple years went by….nothing…..finally a couple years later they gave us all a $1 per hour raise but we had to wait a long time for it and it wasn’t as much as we were expecting. Annually the normal pay raises are pretty pathetic, like $0.25 more per hour, no where NEAR enough to keep up with the cost of living. There is also a lot of instability at Pitney, people are constantly leaving and they are constantly reorganizing departments and downsizing. Before I left they “reorganized” again and made everyone in my department reapply for their own jobs. Huge red flag. Whenever my coworkers would rightfully complain about any of this we got told “I hear you but it is what it is” I would still recommend Pitney as the work environment was very chill and my team was awesome, just be aware that you probably won’t be there for very long and will either get let go or quit. I was there for almost 13 years.

I enjoyed working for Pitney during my time there. Overall, it was a great experience. They allowed me to work from home, with on-site visits when needed. Everyone was very supportive, including the management team.

The company culture has deteriorated rapidly. The entire executive team has been replaced twice in the last 18 months. Unrealistic expectations are placed on the remaining employees, and even the slightest issue is escalated immediately. With so many colleagues and friends having left, those still here are often on call around the clock for even the most minor problems. There's a constant fear of being laid off with the next round of cuts.
