What are pay raises like at PwC?

      PwC reviews

60+ hrs a week for terrible pay

      Senior manager
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good benefits, cool technology to use in your work, smart co-workers. PwC looks good on the resume, that's the only reason most stay a few years, then leave.

      Cons

Terrible, below market pay, work/life balance is non-existent, and the work is never enough. Everyone (especially higher ups and partners) thinks they are the smartest person in the room and will belittle everyone else all the time. Backstabbing and manipulation are the norm. New leadership this year has been very non-communicative/ secretive about their plans and it has affected morale across the firm. You're lucky if you've received a 2% pay raise over the past several years. Promotions are delayed, people are regularly placed in "acting" positions (basically doing the next level job with the lower title and pay), and when you finally are promoted, the pay raise is minimal and non-negotiable. Mandatory return to office, after the entire firm was told that would never happen.

      Pros

When I joined 5 years ago things were great, compared to the other big 4s I was familiar with, it was like a heaven. Then things went downhill a few years later, probably the worst big 4 now.

      Cons

Mandatory 3-day office return since the beginning of January 2025 was the worst move the firm could have made, blame the new CEO for all the bureaucratic changes and downfall the firm has had since he took over. Prior to it, there was something to salvage working in a renowned corporate like this. Now there is nothing - a lot of employees have left due to the low pay and annual increase which was only 2% last year (which is regularly criticised in the employee surveys), micromanagement, lack of flexibility. Just the tip of the iceberg - the HR department is constantly understaffed and frequent turnovers do not help, leavers are silenced, the culture has become worse. Managers in HR openly complain about junior staff, does not represent a good culture.

Very people oriented for being a big4

      Senior pmo analyst

      Pros

They are very structured (each process is well documented for example salary increase, benefits, career growth) plus they try to care about employee well being and flexibility

      Cons

very political company with differences of the treatments and expectations depending on your team and team leader

      Good first professional experience

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Quick promotions and pay raise Huge gain of professional experience and exposure

      Cons

      Important Workload Low starting salary

Great opportunity to gain experience in a growing sector and a niche industry. Great exit opportunities

      Esg consultant
      Former employee
      Athens, Athens, Attica
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Strategy consulting, which is rear in Big4 advisory, typically filled with implementation support, and hence low problem-solving skills. Niche industry, where PwC is consider a national leader, hence great exit opportunities. Capacity to grow professionally with certifications paid by the employer. Expected annual pay raise above 10% due to vastly growing business. Great starting point for one's career.

      Cons

High level of nepotism resulting in sub-optimal managerial personnel, leading to low quality mentoring (silver lining - great opportunity for self development and growth). Nepotism in promotions and lack of clarity for career growth criteria. Long working hours. High drop-out rate (toxic dep head) resulting in project discontinuity. Low pay.

      Cons
