      Field Human Resources Manager Interview

      18 Apr 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ADP (Denver, CO) in Mar 2016

      Interview

Very much what I expected. It started with a brief phone screen and proceeded to a longer phone interview with an ADP professional. I was told during the interview, very specifically, that I would be scheduled to talk with the appropriate individual at the next level. Several days later I received a form letter email stating I was not progressing to the next stage. I "hope" that decision was made because my previous salary was about 25% higher than the max for the position they were advertising. However, we did discuss my salary requirements during the original phone screen and I made it clear I was negotiable. I would have preferred a candid conversation about any concerns they had about my compensation requirements. I may have made a poor impression during the phone interview. However, I was not asked any position related questions. She spent the vast majority of the interview describing the organization, position, how she manages her time and travel to local clients, etc., all of which I found very helpful but I am left puzzled about such a casual conversation and assumption that I would move quickly to the next step ending with the canned "no thanks" email.

      Question 1

Other than asking what questions I had at the beginning of the interview, I was asked virtually nothing. She did all of the talking.
