It was brief, and easy to get through. I think they made their decision after the brief phone screening. But the interview process was clumsy at best. They made me drive into a hurricane in Mississippi. The best part was, they originally had the interview scheduled a day earlier in New Orleans, but cancelled it because of the incoming hurricane. They then rescheduled a day later in Jackson, MS...which is where the hurricane was at that time. They called to see that I arrived safely the day before the interview (they put me up in a hotel). They asked if I would join them for dinner. I agreed. Hadn't brought any clothes for a dinner, so I went to a mall and bought some. Then I never heard back. I called the manager, and she told me they couldn't make it. This was at 7pm...they were simply not going to tell me. She then asked me to prepare a 10min powerpoint presentation on their products. I went nuts! Only hours to prepare, and I had to research the products online. I prepared it and practiced it. The next day, the interview was practically just "Why do you want to work here?"...and they NEVER asked for the presentation. I should've realized what a mistake I was making right then! But I didn't. I went to work for them and ended up leaving 4 short months later! When I provided my two weeks notice, they utilized me for about 1 week, then cut off contact. I later found out that they had cut off my pay as of the day I gave notice. Terrible bunch of characters. Lured me away from a stellar career. You live and learn.
