I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Microsoft in Dec 2009
Interview
I applied through a Career Fair here at my university, and they contacted me about a month later saying that they had an interviewer on campus and would like to meet with me. A few emails were sent back and forth to confirm the time and location, and eventually I had an interview time slot solidified and was invited to a pizza party the night before to meet the other interviewees and interviewer. Overall, setting up the interview was very easy.
