Role Summary:

We are looking for seasoned Sr. Oracle DBA to lead the administration, automation, optimization, and support of enterprise-scale Oracle database environments for large-scale, multi-phase digital transformation programs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, performance tuning, Shell Scripting, and automation, along with experience in SQL Server and AWS cloud environments. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, database security, backup and recovery, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and seamless integration across enterprise infrastructure while maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available database architectures.

What You’ll Do

Manage and support hybrid database environments across on-premises infrastructure and AWS Cloud, including deployment, administration, optimization, troubleshooting, and debugging of databases, applications, tools, and networks.

Provide enterprise-wide Oracle and SQL Server DBA support for production systems, while collaborating with application development teams on database design, provisioning, coding, patching, performance tuning, and production support.

Deliver DBA services with strong customer service, technical expertise, responsiveness, and timely resolution of user issues to ensure business continuity and productivity.

Deploy, configure, and administer Oracle 19c (and later versions) and SQL Server databases on AWS EC2 instances as well as Amazon RDS environments.

Perform routine database maintenance activities including backups, restores, archive log management, security implementation, and ensuring database integrity, reliability, and availability.

Monitor database health and performance metrics, diagnose issues and bottlenecks, debug DB job failures, manage storage and swap space, and optimize configurations for improved efficiency and reduced latency.

Optimize database performance through query tuning, index optimization, and configuration enhancements to maintain high-performing and scalable database systems.

Implement and maintain robust database security controls including AWS Security Groups, IAM policies, encryption mechanisms, and compliance with industry security standards to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.

Design and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as multi-AZ deployments, database replication, failover mechanisms, and automated backup strategies to ensure uninterrupted data access.

Automate database administration tasks include patching, variable updates, disk space analysis, and monitoring activities using Ansible and other automation tools.

8+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise production environments.

5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and cloning.

3+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database automation using Shell Scripting, Python, or Ansible.

5+ years of experience in Oracle Performance Tuning including SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, wait event analysis, and execution plan optimization.

3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS Cloud services such as RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.

2+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments.
